Scaling Under Anesthesia
Local anesthesia is preferred in cases where standard cleaning is insufficient, or deep/painful pockets exist. General anesthesia options can also be evaluated for patients with severe dental phobia, ensuring full debridement across all quadrants.

Estimated duration: Depending on inflammation depth, procedure takes 1 to 2 hours or more; calculated at 45-90 minutes per quadrant across multiple visits. Recovery is 2-7 days.
